Dear Parents,

In the last club newsletter there was an article which has caused a certain amount of consternation amongst some of you regarding ages. May I apologise to any of you that were upset and give you this guarantee. We have no intention of altering the way the waiting list is managed, the club is open to all, whatever age. If because of lack of spaces a child has to go on the waiting list they will do so until a suitable place becomes available. With regard to children not being invited back in September, it is not the way we work at Manx Gymnastics. All children will be invited back in September although some class times may have changed, this is usual as children are moved into more suitable classes. The dedicated team of volunteer coaches have been working tirelessly over the past few weeks to find ways of making the sessions , especially for the older girls both more interesting and challenging. I believe they have succeeded and various options will be offered to the older girls in September.

The club is entering a new and exciting faze. The new extension, a £400,000 investment for the future, should be ready for use during October. This exciting project will benefit all sections of the club. We also look forward to hosting the Junior Commonwealth Games in 2011. This will give our gymnasts the opportunity to see some of the best junior gymnasts in the world competing in our own club and hopefully gymnasts from Manx Gymnastics will be representing the Isle of Man, what a challenge.

A club such as ours cannot be successful without the support of parents, we are successful and that is in part to the parental support we have had in the past. Please support the club in its endeavours whether it be by fund raising, coaching or general help around the gym during events. You would not believe how much that help is appreciated.

Once again may I apologise for the blip in the usual smooth and efficient running of the club.

Yours sincerely,

Ian Bradshaw,

President.
